Brad Peterson

SGC Foodservice loves success stories, and Brad’s is no exception.  Brad started with us in 2017 as a Routing Specialist within our Transportation Department. Spring forward to 2024, and he is now a Transportation/Driver Safety Supervisor where he “is a humble leader and coach to a team of 30 SGC delivery drivers.”

Brad has learned every aspect of what it takes to get a case of product from the warehouse to our customers. Along with his knowledge of the processes, he also has his CDL. He loves that he can run delivery routes as needed, saying that doing so helps him stay connected with what the drivers deal with daily. He also serves as a liaison between sales, the warehouses, leadership team, and the transportation department.

Brad starts his day at SGC early, making sure that all routes across our fleet depart on time, and assisting drivers with daily operations.  He also supports his team by making sure they are working safely, driving defensively, lifting properly, etc. It is not unusual for him to help his team work through breakdowns by driving a replacement truck to a driver, accessing customer locations, and other situations that may arise. He wants to do whatever he can to help the drivers successfully deliver to our customers.

One of Brad’s favorite parts of his position is training new drivers and teaching them skills that will help them succeed. He prides himself on building relationships with his team and possessing patience and flexibility.  He feels these things allow him to support the drivers, problem-solve quickly and efficiently, and transition easily between tasks.

Outside of SGC, Brad loves to spend time with his family. He has been with his amazing wife for 19 years, and they just celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary. They have two children that he says keep them on their toes. In his spare time, he likes to play the drums and work on cars, lawnmowers, etc. He hopes to have a project car and work on it with his kids in the future.

Brad would like to continue developing his leadership skills to better support the drivers and grow his career as a mentor and coach with SGC, adding I truly enjoy waking up every morning and coming to work. I have the privilege to work with upper management frequently, and the family culture resonates from the top down. SGC is a one-of-a-kind company!” Brad, we are thankful you are a part of the SGC family!
